When We Are Closed

If you require medical care when the surgery is closed, the single telephone number to call the out-of-hours service is 111.

This service is available between the hours of 6.30pm and 8.00am Monday to Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday, all bank holidays and public holidays.

NHS 111 is a service to make it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services. You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but this is not for a 999 emergency.

When to use this service

You should use the NHS 111 service if you urgently need medical help or advice but it's not a life-threatening situation.

Call 111 if:

  • You need medical help fast but it's not a 999 emergency
  • You think you need to go Accident & Emergency or another NHS urgent care service
  • You don't know who to call or you don't have a GP to call
  • You need health information or reassurance about what to do next

NHS Walk-in Centre

Patients can also visit the walk-in centre at:

Boscombe and Springbourne Health Centre, 66-68 Palmerston Road, Boscombe BH1 4JT

Tel: 01202 720174

Out of hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and/or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
